Pretty much everyone has a Skype, that’s waht makes it such a great way to communicate with your friends. You can instant message, call, text, or video chat on your computer. But one of our facebook fans wanted to know if you could do the same on your iPad.
Well, the answer is: YES.
There’s an app for that. Fortunately that app is also free. It allows you to call your friends on skype (free) or on landlines (you have to pay for a special skype account for that), instant message them (free), and text them (you have to pay [ ... ]
Haha yep. It’s my birthday today, and not just any birthday. It’s my 16th, so I got my license!! Yay! I also got my dad’s old car… it’s a Ford Expedition. Kind of monstrous and not that pretty, but I really like it because I can drive it.
So where was the first place I drove to? The Apple Store of course. Why? To get an iPad. =D
Julia and Nico’s mom got me an ipad. Awesome right? I’m so pumped and I’m working on getting all of my music and games and stuff on it right now.
So far I [ ... ]

U gotta get this free App.
This is so funny. Here on this video you will see Nico who makes his voice into Tom’s.
You talk to Talking
Tom, this cat (this is basically the next best thing after the app
SmackTalk, the iPhone app, remember that funny hamster?) but
TALKING TOM IS FUNNIER!
I like to make his voice deep. The neat thing is you can record your Tom’s voice and send it to Youtube, Facebook, or email it. Some people think it is mean that you can poke the cat. My family has cats and we [ ... ]
crazy machines is a building game. to beat a level you have to say get a ball in a basket. it maybe puzzling for you it takes me 1 to 5 minutes to do each level.
this is what the iTunes page says. P.S. It works on my iPad, I do not know why the iTunes does not say it.
This is what the iTunes says about the game:
The aim of Crazy Machines is to build crazy contraptions to complete the tasks set forth by the wacky Professor. Give free rein to your imagination and unleash [ ... ]

As you may know, this past May 26th was the 30th birthday of PAC-MAN. We missed it here at the iPad Kids (sorry peeps!) A fab artist Martin made these retro made new Pac Man dudes.
Yeah, we are kinda partial the the
Apple ghost.
From Martin Refsal: In honor of this momentous occasion, I’ve put together a “Guide To PAC-MAN Ghosts”. It features the ghosts you’re all familiar with, plus some exotic species like the Dwight Schrute ghost and the notorious Kim Jong-Il ghost. Click on the image to see it full size. The iPad has a lot of great uses, but to be honest, this wasn’t one of the ones that popped into my head right away.
Well, the Vatican didn’t seem to have anything negative to say about it. So, why not? In Italy, this Catholic priest (Don Michele Bigi) used the iPad to say mass at a summer camp instead of the big, heavy book version of the Roman Missal. He used a PDF to read the Bible during an outside mass.
When interviewed, the priest said that the iPad was “really easy to use.” It’s definitely a lot lighter, and [ ... ]

Hey guys!
Nico and I just got back from a NYC trip with our grandmother! I believe we saw almost everything there. We took double-deck night bus tours to Brooklyn Bridge then Times Square. The next day waited in line for two hours to see the Statue of Liberty, and then we went to the Empire State Building- we did it all.
;D
But the coolest thing that I saw there
was of course,
the Apple Store.
(In the photo on the right you can see Nico and me in front of the Apple store.)
When you begin to walk up to the apple store, its [ ... ]
Here’s another great thing about technology, as we become more and more familiar with designing and building it, it becomes cheaper and cheaper to produce. As the title suggests, a company in India has started selling tablet PCs for $35! It’s similar to the iPad in that it is a tablet PC, but dissimilar in that it costs $464 less. Could this be competition for Apple’s iPad? Not with the population that Apple is targeting. At least, that’s my opinion. Apple is a brand name, like Hollister or American Eagle-but in the tech world. Aside from that, it is the [ ... ]
Just because technology is growing faster than anything ever imagined… well, don’t let it scare you.
Remember the little things:
Aquafresh tastes good.
It is impossible to lick your elbow.
You may get a bunion on your toe when you are old.
Oh, and rubber bands last longer when refrigerated.
See … regular non-Internet things are interesting.

It’s the classic game of snake on your iPad. Gobble up all of the items on the screen by swiping anywhere to turn the snake, [ ... ]

So I’m pretty much sure we can all agree that technology is awesome. Gotta love it. They make some amazing things with technology. But there are always people who will take it too far, like there is with everything. And usually those things that get taken too far are the super flashy expensive things. Some of these super expensive things actually can be used, but most of them are for show. So with no further ado, I present you with my list of top 8 ridiculously expensive (and just plain ridiculous, really) technology.

ABC by Paul McDougall
is a quirky little iPad app book that has the alphabet with kooky characters featured. Very simple, you flip the pages and the alphabet letters go from A-Z. What is nice is there are mod cartoon creatures and the Letter descriptions are original. The whole book feels fresh.
Nice job, Mr. Paul. Psst: He is the developer dude!
I like the N is for Nelson, whose nickname is noodles. He even made my 9 year old brother crack up giggling.
“Finally, an alphabet book that doesn’t start with A is for Apple. This ABC book is [ ... ]
There is a really net website called
Blik; it has absolutely nothing to do with the iPad except I can see the Asteroids wall decals in a gamers room while they play on the iPad. You know: retro vs. new.
Blik makes wallpapers that you can just stick to your wall, but they’re some of the coolest wallpapers I have ever seen! There are some that the company designs on their own. They draw on a lot of classic ideas like toys, video games, and just classic designs. Like this:
Remember this toy?
But they don’t only design their [ ... ]
“The iPad Kids gives it two thumbs up. Plus we want some of the blueberry pie, please.”
The girl in it is trying to make her life interesting. She makes time go backwards one hour. The next day she sees that the extra hour of time has made her family happy because they were able to do more in the morning with the extra hour, like study or bake a pie.
I like pie!
The drawings are the best part. And the dog that is on pages- you have to kinda search for him like a treasure hunt- it is [ ... ]

When we first started our blog we called it CheddarPad Kids.
We like cheese. A lot.
We ended up changing the name of this blog to The iPad Kids bc, well, it makes sense.
Yet, when we found this
Macaroni and Cheese Candle
candle and then the cheese one, well, we HAD to show you.
What’s better than macaroni and cheese? A mac and cheese candle, of course! You can get your own from
kokocandles Etsy store. If only it smelled like macaroni, then I would really be in heaven.
They are made by
kokocandles.
