Aha… get it? Because it’s called
Ace Multiply… I’m so punny.
No, seriously.
Really.
Anyways, this is a neat app that helps you learn your times tables. (I know my times tables, don’t worry… I am a Junior ) But this game is actually hard.
There are three different ways to play this game: there is “Multiplier” which is pretty much flashcards for times tables. Then there is “Grid Play” where you start at level one, and fill in the times table (it’s all mixed up, it’s not your standard thing) as FAST as possible. I try not to play this [ ... ]

I’ve got another funny iPad story!! It was great.
So my two friends (they’re brother and sister) both have iPads that they use at school for textbooks and stuff. And of course, they still have games on them and stuff so we were playing Fruit Ninja at lunch passing around the iPad, right? And then… dun dun duunnnn….
My lit teacher walks up. And he’s pretty cool, in an unpredictable sort of way. You never know when he walks up whether he’s going to say something funny or whether you’re going to get in trouble.
He definitely keeps us on [ ... ]
Once in space, the human said: “We will colonize you, Universe!”
“Oh, really?” answered the Universe, and threw a flaming fireball towards the human!
And the Universe, who enjoys explosions, looked for more humans…
and found many.
Ohhhhh scary. Haha this is actually a pretty fun game. Given, it’s very simple. The whole point: throw flaming asteroids at humans and destroy their ships as much as possible.
Okay, I’m cool with that. I also really like how at the beginning of a new level, they give the level a name, and the name gives you a hint as to how you need to throw [ ... ]

Not to mention it saves trees, right?
I’ve been using Flashcards Deluxe on my iPod touch since last year, and I like it even more on my iPad!
Of course, if I were to describe it here in my own words, this could take forever, because it has so many great features. So I’ll just give you the list from the app page:
• Two smart study modes that automatically focus more on the cards you miss: Leitner and a more advanced Spaced Repetition mode (similar to SuperMemo or Anki)
• Quizlet.com integration – Browse and download any of their 2 million+ flashcard [ ... ]

Myspace Music Romeo. This is a really cool app. Have any of you ever heard of Pandora Radio? Of course you have, who hasn’t? It’s that really cool app/website where you can type in an artist or song and have it play similar songs that you will probably like.
Well this is like Pandora Radio for Music Videos. The only big difference is that instead of choosing a song or artist, you choose your mood. You could be happy, partying, dancing, studying, whatever. It has music videos for you!
Despite the name (“Myspace” Music Romeo) you don’t have to have [ ... ]

One of the first apps I looked for when I got my iPad was facebook. And when I found out that there were only two actual facebook apps (that I could find-correct me if I’m wrong!) that cost $3.99 and $4.99 I was very mad, to say the least.
I considered buying them at first, but I figured that I would wait, you know? And as I started using my iPad more and more, I realized why nobody had made a free Facebook app:
You can go on the internet with a big screen on the iPad.
Duh.
I felt so stereotypically blonde [ ... ]

Frame Up is a free photo app. It’s really neat, I like it. I think that most of the time, people use it for actual serious designing of rooms, but I like to just have fun with it.
I’m really into photography and these are some of my favorite pictures I’ve taken arranged on Frame Up:
Yeah. It’s pretty cool. You can change the background to yellow, green, or beige with the lights. Or you can change it to blue, green, grey, or red just plain. Or you can change it to dark red with a light red border.
When you [ ... ]

Why, oh why do I always make everything nerdy, even when it doesn’t need to be?? Maybe you don’t understand the nerdiness. Maybe that’s a good thing…
No, seriously though. This game is really fun.
It’s called
Virion and it’s only $2.99 in the app store. The point of the game is that there is a giant virus infecting someone’s brain. There are six main levels with fourteen levels within each one. Each sub-level is shown by someone who has been infected, and once they are cured, they are happy again!
Each infected person’s brain has around nine areas [ ... ]

I love oxymorons. Maybe that’s a little nerdy, but I think they’re really entertaining. Anyone not know what an oxymoron is? (no it doesn’t mean stupid) It’s generally a two-word phrase, and the two words contradict each other. For example: silent scream, act naturally, alone together, and one of my favorites: Microsoft Works. Ahaha. Get the idea now?
Well, then how is this game an oxymoron? It’s a relaxing puzzle game. You know, usually puzzle games make me really anxious because they’re either timed, or I get frustrated that I can’t solve it (AH, nerd again!!! x.x). But [ ... ]

Zinio for the iPad-this is possibly the COOLEST app I have on my iPad. Very likely. Almost certainly. Definitely.
Zinio is an e-magazine website (www.zinio.com) where you can buy subscriptions to magazines. So what makes this so amazing? The sheer number of magazines available. You want it? Then you can be pretty much sure they have it.
They have Rolling Stone, Smithsonian, Popular Mechanics, Elle, Reader’s Digest, National Geographic, iCreate (a spanish Apple magazine!!), The Economist, and my favorite: Mental Floss.
There are all of those, and ridiculous amounts more. And they’re really not that expensive. Example: you can [ ... ]

Muy bien, amigos!! So now we’re back in school, and most likely you all are taking at least one language class. I’m taking Spanish Five Honors, and it’s tough! But I’m kind of getting to the point where I’m almost fluent in Spanish. Que bueno, verdad?
And I have been using this website for the past three years, I believe, for Spanish. It is an amazing website called www.wordreference.com. It’s also good for French, Italian, and a few other languages, I think.
And they have an iPhone app too! Three of them, actually. Uno para el Español, uno per le italiane, [ ... ]

Yeah… so I realize that I didn’t do a post yesterday… but I had a LOT of homework. I mean, it’s the first day, you’d think that they would go easy on us but noooo. I don’t know what I was thinking when I signed up for AP Stats and AP Calculus…
Anyway, that doesn’t matter right now. I figured to make up for it, I could do a double review of two StoryChimes books. The two I’m reviewing are Three Little Pigs and The Princess and the Pea.
They have 28 books available in the app store, all added up. [ ... ]

Dodgedot has a fairly simple idea: drag the colored dots to their corresponding colored bar. Easy, right? Here’s the catch, though (there always is) the dots can’t touch each other.
HOLY FLIPPIN COW!!! This game is SO hard. Given, I’m no amazing gamer; my scores never make it onto the scoreboard for pretty much any game no matter what, but this is really really really hard.
Aside from the fact that seemingly simple tasks can be reallllly hard (minute to win it, anyone? I love that show!), it makes it even harder when sometimes the levels start with the dots on [ ... ]
This is a cute book for little kids who are grouchy and grumpy and don’t want to be nice. The book itself is cute, but rather than getting to turn pages and stuff, you just kind of slide them, not really turn them. And it works, I guess, but I am really a fan of the page-turning.
That’s okay though. The story is about a little boy who wakes up with the grouchies. (The mean little storm clouds with frowny faces) and they tell him “Grouch and grump at everyone you meat throughout the day. Don’t be nice to anyone [ ... ]

So I have a summer job and all, but I also babysit on a regular basis, because I love kids and it actually pays more per hour than my “real job.” But I’m not going to lie and say that’s it’s easy, especially when I’m babysitting siblings. It’s like they think that since I’m not their parents, they can just be super difficult…
But the thing is that they’re so ADORABLE so I’m okay with it. And yesterday was the first day that I brought my iPad with me. Was I slightly nervous? Oh, yes. As I was [ ... ]
