Once in space, the human said: “We will colonize you, Universe!”
“Oh, really?” answered the Universe, and threw a flaming fireball towards the human!
And the Universe, who enjoys explosions, looked for more humans…
and found many.
Ohhhhh scary. Haha this is actually a pretty fun game. Given, it’s very simple. The whole point: throw flaming asteroids at humans and destroy their ships as much as possible.
Okay, I’m cool with that. I also really like how at the beginning of a new level, they give the level a name, and the name gives you a hint as to how you need to throw [ ... ]

Not to mention it saves trees, right?
I’ve been using Flashcards Deluxe on my iPod touch since last year, and I like it even more on my iPad!
Of course, if I were to describe it here in my own words, this could take forever, because it has so many great features. So I’ll just give you the list from the app page:
• Two smart study modes that automatically focus more on the cards you miss: Leitner and a more advanced Spaced Repetition mode (similar to SuperMemo or Anki)
• Quizlet.com integration – Browse and download any of their 2 million+ flashcard [ ... ]

Myspace Music Romeo. This is a really cool app. Have any of you ever heard of Pandora Radio? Of course you have, who hasn’t? It’s that really cool app/website where you can type in an artist or song and have it play similar songs that you will probably like.
Well this is like Pandora Radio for Music Videos. The only big difference is that instead of choosing a song or artist, you choose your mood. You could be happy, partying, dancing, studying, whatever. It has music videos for you!
Despite the name (“Myspace” Music Romeo) you don’t have to have [ ... ]

One of the first apps I looked for when I got my iPad was facebook. And when I found out that there were only two actual facebook apps (that I could find-correct me if I’m wrong!) that cost $3.99 and $4.99 I was very mad, to say the least.
I considered buying them at first, but I figured that I would wait, you know? And as I started using my iPad more and more, I realized why nobody had made a free Facebook app:
You can go on the internet with a big screen on the iPad.
Duh.
I felt so stereotypically blonde [ ... ]

So, this guy Jeff said 50 million iPads will sell a year.
Yeah, 50 million sounds like Jeff Matthews (a guy at RAM partners) thinks Apple is trying to make everything seem amazing.
I mean, 50 million is really a lot. Too much.
But, then I looked at how many iPads are selling and thought about it.
Apple sold
1 million units really fast when it came out. Then it hit the
3 million sales just as fast.
right this minute 4 million iPads have sold.
Apple thinks 12 million are gonna sell by the end of this year (hello Christmas [ ... ]

I love oxymorons. Maybe that’s a little nerdy, but I think they’re really entertaining. Anyone not know what an oxymoron is? (no it doesn’t mean stupid) It’s generally a two-word phrase, and the two words contradict each other. For example: silent scream, act naturally, alone together, and one of my favorites: Microsoft Works. Ahaha. Get the idea now?
Well, then how is this game an oxymoron? It’s a relaxing puzzle game. You know, usually puzzle games make me really anxious because they’re either timed, or I get frustrated that I can’t solve it (AH, nerd again!!! x.x). But [ ... ]

Zinio for the iPad-this is possibly the COOLEST app I have on my iPad. Very likely. Almost certainly. Definitely.
Zinio is an e-magazine website (www.zinio.com) where you can buy subscriptions to magazines. So what makes this so amazing? The sheer number of magazines available. You want it? Then you can be pretty much sure they have it.
They have Rolling Stone, Smithsonian, Popular Mechanics, Elle, Reader’s Digest, National Geographic, iCreate (a spanish Apple magazine!!), The Economist, and my favorite: Mental Floss.
There are all of those, and ridiculous amounts more. And they’re really not that expensive. Example: you can [ ... ]

Yeah… so I realize that I didn’t do a post yesterday… but I had a LOT of homework. I mean, it’s the first day, you’d think that they would go easy on us but noooo. I don’t know what I was thinking when I signed up for AP Stats and AP Calculus…
Anyway, that doesn’t matter right now. I figured to make up for it, I could do a double review of two StoryChimes books. The two I’m reviewing are Three Little Pigs and The Princess and the Pea.
They have 28 books available in the app store, all added up. [ ... ]

This is a cute book for little kids who are grouchy and grumpy and don’t want to be nice. The book itself is cute, but rather than getting to turn pages and stuff, you just kind of slide them, not really turn them. And it works, I guess, but I am really a fan of the page-turning.
That’s okay though. The story is about a little boy who wakes up with the grouchies. (The mean little storm clouds with frowny faces) and they tell him “Grouch and grump at everyone you meat throughout the day. Don’t be nice to anyone [ ... ]

I just got a new iPad case to review, it’s called the M-Edge Trip Jacket. It’s like one of those portfolio cases. The outside can look like one of two things: professional or fun. There are some that are black on the case and beige on the “binding” and the strap. But there are also really fun colors like the pink and orange ones.
I personally felt like going beyond one-color fun and got a striped one (to the left of this writing). That is actually the one I got in the box from the company [ ... ]

Ok, so we all know Apple, and how they are very particular about the kinds of apps they allow. Does anyone remember MiTube? A youtube app that allowed you to download the youtube videos to your iPad? Apple had originally allowed that and put it in the app store, but once they realized what it was really for, they took it out of the app store. But those of us who had been lucky enough to have already downloaded it still have it on our iPads, other people just can’t buy it any more.
To be totally honest, I’m kind of [ ... ]

So I think this Photoshop app is just a little bit ahead of PhotoPad. You can do a lot more, and you can control it too. They’re both free, though.
You can crop straighten, rotate, or flip. You can change the amount of exposure, color saturation, tint, contrast, or make it black and white. You can make it look sketchy, have a soft focus, or sharpen it. You can choose from the folloing effects too: vibrant, pop (with the four color tints, one in each corner… you know what I’m talking about, right?), vignette blur (where it blurs around the [ ... ]

“MyType, a personality-typing application for Facebook users, surveyed over 20,000 people about Apple’s iPad to reveal the personality traits, values, demographics and interests that drive differences in opinion about the new tablet computer. Of the five distinct opinion segments that emerged, two had the most striking profiles: the owners and the critics. iPad owners are best characterized as selfish elites. Wealthier, older, and more educated, there are sophisticated, highly value power and achievement, and are not very kind or altruistic. iPad Critics, on the other hand, tend to be independent geeks: self-directed young people who look down on conformity and [ ... ]

Did you know there are over 125 species of monkey and only 3 species of elephant?
Yeah I knew the elephant thing, but not the number of monkey species. So maybe I’m not a little itty bitty iPad Kid like the ones this app is targeting, but I can still learn something from it, right? (But don’t worry, I can spell hippopotamus-which by the way comes from the greek word for water horse)

I work at this little tiny publishing company with maybe five full-time workers and four interns. (I’m an intern) And we don’t have that many computers. Eight, actually. And one of the full-time employees actually works from home, but she sometimes uses one of the computers in the office remotely but not a lot lately. And there are usually one or two of the interns doing shipping, so they don’t need a computer.
Well yesterday everyone needed a computer. Including the employee that works from home. So she was using the [ ... ]
